4 Owl Inspired Mixed Media Projects
Owl Magic
A Mixed Media Journey for Owl Painters
I started painting owls a few years ago and have been hooked ever since. For me, they represent wisdom, grace, strength, and mystery. This course is a celebration of this beautiful bird. I hope these lessons will help you incorporate owls into your artwork in your own unique way.
Open for Registration
This course is designed to help you slow down and create from nature. I’m excited to share these new magical projects with you!
We will be drawing inspiration from my favorite owl - the barn owl. I love the heart-shaped face, beautiful markings, and peaceful presence.
Uplifting Creative Lessons…
Lesson 1 - Drawing the Owl
We will start off the course by creating two pencil sketches. These drawings will get you familiar with drawing the face and body. I will share tips for shading, creating texture, and adding magical details to your sketchbook.
Lesson 2 - Mixed Media Owl
In this lesson, we will build up the owl in layers of paint, colored pencil and stencils. You will learn how to use color to create highlights and shadows. We will explore how mark making is important for developing texture.
Lesson 3 - Handmade Owl Stamp
In this lesson, we will create a handmade stamp from scratch. Handmade stamps are personal and versatile. If you’ve never carved before, this will be a great beginner project for you.
Lesson 4 - Night Owl Wall Hanging
Are you ready for a recycled DIY art project? We will take everything we’ve learned for the previous lessons and make a beautiful wall hanging. I will encourage you to take a look into your left over scraps to make something new.

About me (your instructor)
My name is Danielle Mack and I live and work in the Raleigh, NC area. I love drawing faces and have fun coming up with new and different people to create.
Once you have the basics down, there is nothing that can stop you.
For a long time, I didn’t think my drawings were good enough but the longer I drew the more confidence I had in myself.
I hope the same for you!
I look forward to seeing you in class.
Blessings 🖤 Danielle
